Beijing IPR complaint hotline and English website

In June 2006, the municipal government of Beijing established an IPR phone complaint hotline (12312) to protect IPR and combat piracy. Since the opening of the hotline, the center has received 206 complaints, most of which were from foreign rights owners (56 percent of all callers).

Meanwhile, the Beijing Intellectual Property Office has put up an English website for online complaints, namely www.beijing12312.com where foreign rights owners can file complaints in written form.

The Beijing Municipality is planning to open another three IPR complaint centers this year in the Yizhuang, Chaoyang and Haidian areas. Many foreign-invested companies are located in these regions.
